What led you to want to see film noir? honestly it was a 2 movie cheapie at Target- got it for a dollar- the disc had Detour and Whistlestop- and then I got a Film Noir collection at Suncoast that had DOA,The Stranger and others- then I was so hooked I got whatever had Noir on the cover-the cover art on the Detour/Whistlestop was so interesting looking I had to put down the dollar and watch it

What attracts you to film noir? as a fan of classic movies and gangster flicks(from Departed on back to The Public Enemy) it was a natural progression

when i was a sprout, if i couldn't sleep i'd get up and watch late night tv. this was in the day when they'd show old movies at night. not sure if it was the first, but the lady gambles, starring barbara stanwyck as a compulsive gambler, made quite an impression on me. and in general i always loved the type of films now categorized as noir. looking forward to the day when the lady gambles is available on dvd, or when eddie muller schedules it for the s.f. film noir fest.
