Hangmen Also Die -1943 bit of anti-nazi propaganda by German ex-patriarch Fritz Lang.Stark and suspenseful this movie mixes the Czech occupation with a fictional story.A great use of shadows and some well played Gestapo and double agents populate this war movie with paranoia.Brian Donleavy does an excellent job(ok it was a little showy- and sometimes it seemed as though Lang was going back to days of silent movies.)At times the movie feels bloated with the "rallying" speeches-but it is worth watching for the interogation scenes and the suspenseful chase scenes.The DVD did not have any extras. A-
